Sometimes we get so caught up in where women haven’t gotten yet (gender-based violence, the wage gap, maternal health and #metoo to name a few) we forget how far we have come. March is the month for that celebration as Women’s History Month.
While we are excited about the 100th anniversary of women gaining the right to vote and the dedication of an entire month celebrating Women’s History, I wanted to make it personal. To speak with and about women in our community who are using the rights we have earned to assert their passion, creativity and freedom. We chose women from the surrounding community that we have met and admired.
Their stories inspire and their endeavors are well worth supporting. We’ve dedicated a page on our blog for each amazing woman- and linked to them here. Read and please feel free to comment here with a glimpse into YOUR story.
