Last week I attended the Neiman Marcus Spring Trend Report hosted by resident stylist Sonia Minetti Sengos, and she did NOT disappoint.
As I left, I remembered the last show was in New York City just two days before COVID-19 everything down. What a year. Though masked and distanced, it was so good to be back!
The champagne was flowing and Sonia wowed us with more creative looks than ever. before I was both happy and relieved to hear that those skinny jeans are in fact, still in. I will still try a flare, but cautiously – LOL.
Apparently windbreakers are back in fashion- yuk – and she featured a few halter neck dresses with low backs which were beautiful.
I am sure it comes as no surprise that florals are hot again this season, and I really want to try a big bold sleeve of some kind this summer. Oh, and drawstring, crossbody bags were everywhere.
A few other takeaways:
- All white/ mono-color ensembles are everything!
- Belts, belts and more belts
- Tunics and pants are back again
- Soft and feminine elevated knitwear
- Bold colors – very strong in the greens and pinks
- Get creative and mix fabrics!
In summary, Sonia said that, “Nothing is more fabulous than being true to yourself and your style,” and I thoroughly agree!
So, have a little fun with your wardrobe this summer.
I have already purchased two dresses in green- a color that I have been told will work well with my complexion but I have avoided, as it reminds me of my school uniform.
I’m taking the leap and throwing caution to the wind!
