As evidenced by last week, early spring weather can be anything but predictable. So, it’s always best to be prepared for whatever may come our way. For me, this means investing in a quality umbrella, trench coat, and rain boots (or as I say, Wellies) to get through spring in style.
While shopping online for a classic style trench coat to incorporate into my wardrobe, I came across a few that I must share. Here are some of my favorite trench coats for spring, and do let me know if you end up with one! It was hard to choose.
When it comes to classic staples, nobody does it better than Theory. This Oaklane Trench Coat is available in three colors (I’m partial to the Crepe color, but the Black is also beautiful) and is minimalist but chic. At over $600, it’s definitely an investment — but a great coat is worth investing in, in my opinion.
This Brooks Brothers coat is not only classic, but the price is right. It’s double-breasted and has all the classic details that I love, including belted cuffs, a removable belt, welt front pockets, a back storm flap, and a back vent. The best part? It has a removable water-repellent lining so you’re ready for whatever the weather throws your way.
For a more brown color and a longer length, I am loving Reformation’s Holland Trench. It’s available in Camel and Brown and is a real statement piece. I like the more relaxed fit and how it is longer than the others I came across, though I think you’d definitely need a heel with this coat to complete the look.
